Arvind Gupta is a pioneering Indian educator, scientist, and author who has dedicated his life to making science fun and accessible for children. Born in 1953, Gupta graduated from IIT Kanpur and initially worked in industry before discovering his passion for science communication and education. He is widely recognized for creating innovative toys and experiments from everyday waste materials, which he uses to teach scientific concepts in a simple, engaging way. His book Matchstick Models and Other Science Experiments has been translated into multiple languages and continues to inspire children across the world. Gupta has worked extensively with educational institutions, NGOs, and media platforms, spreading his philosophy of “toys from trash” to promote learning through play.
