In the busy marketplace of Nanterre, a legend told of a girl who appeared only when it rained, carrying a black umbrella.
One afternoon, dark clouds gathered and rain started to fall. The market was lively with vendors selling goods, kids playing, and people haggling. Clara, a curious girl, noticed a figure with a black umbrella moving gracefully through the crowd.
Clara decided to follow her. The girl was about Clara’s age, with long dark hair and a magical way of moving. She seemed to glide along the ground.
The girl stopped and looked at Clara with bright green eyes. “Why are you following me?” she asked in a soft voice.
“I wanted to know who you are,” Clara replied nervously.
The girl smiled sadly. “I am part of the town’s past, a memory that comes back when it rains. I’m looking for something I lost a long time ago.”
“What did you lose?” Clara asked.
“My family,” the girl said, her voice growing serious. “They disappeared one stormy night. I’ve been searching for them ever since.”
Clara felt sorry for her. “How can I help?”
“You need to find a locket,” the girl said. “It’s the key to finding my family. It was last seen in the old clock tower by the forest.”
Determined to help, Clara went to the old clock tower. It was abandoned and covered in dust. As she climbed the stairs, she heard the rain pounding on the stone walls. At the top, she found a dusty chest with a silver locket inside.
Clara rushed back to the market with the locket. The girl was waiting with hope in her eyes. When Clara handed her the locket, a bright flash of light surrounded them. When the light faded, the girl and the locket were gone.
The rain stopped, and the market returned to its usual busy state. Clara was left holding the black umbrella. She knew she had seen something special and would always remember it.
