It was a quiet evening in Aaravâs house. The kind of evening where you just want to sit back, relax, and maybe watch some TV. But Aarav had other plans.
âMeera, chalo, let's go outside and look at the stars!â Aarav said, pulling his little sister away from her video games.
Meera looked up from her phone with a bored expression. "Stars? Bhai, they are just tiny twinkling dots in the sky. Whatâs so exciting about them?"
Aarav grinned. âYouâll see, Iâve got something special for tonight!â
He dragged Meera to the backyard, where their old telescope was standing under the clear night sky. It wasnât a fancy new model, but Aarav loved it. He had inherited it from his grandfather, who had been an avid astronomer.
âYeh kya hai?â Meera asked, raising an eyebrow. âA telescope? Seriously?â
Aarav ignored her teasing. âTrust me, this isnât just any telescope. This one is... magic!â
Meera rolled her eyes. âMagic? Aarav, stop making up stories.â
But Aarav was already adjusting the telescope, his fingers moving with confidence. He pointed it towards the sky, aiming at a bright, shining star. âOkay, here goes. Look through it and prepare to be amazed!â
Reluctantly, Meera peered through the eyepiece. For a second, nothing happened. She was about to pull away and complain whenâsuddenlyâa bright flash of light surrounded her vision. She gasped.
âAarav! Whatâs happening?â Meera pulled away from the telescope, her face wide-eyed in shock.
Aarav was grinning. âI told you! The telescope shows more than just stars. It can actually take us on a journey through space!â
Meera looked at him suspiciously. âReally? Now, you're pulling my leg!â
âNo, seriously,â Aarav said, âLetâs go explore!â
Before Meera could protest, the telescope began to glow, and the ground beneath them seemed to vanish. In a blink, they found themselves soaring through the sky, past the clouds and straight into outer space.
âWhaâwhatâs happening?!â Meera screamed, clutching Aaravâs arm. They were zooming past stars, planets, and even a glowing moon!
Aarav laughed, âTold you it was magic!â
They flew past Mars, its red surface shining in the distance, and then through the asteroid belt, where they had to dodge a few floating rocks.
âPehle, I was scared of science class. Now, I am really scared!â Meera yelled, holding on tight.
But Aarav was loving every second. âThis is so cool! Look at that, Meera! Thereâs Saturn, with its beautiful rings!â He pointed towards the distant planet, its rings sparkling like diamonds in the vastness of space.
Just then, the telescope did a strange thing. It turned around and started heading toward a dark, mysterious cloud in the distance.
âWhere are we going?â Meera asked, her voice trembling with a mix of excitement and fear.
Aarav didnât know. But he was too curious to stop. âLetâs check it out!â
They flew towards the dark cloud, which turned out to be a giant nebulaâa glowing gas cloud where stars were born. As they approached, Aarav noticed something even more amazing: tiny stars were twinkling in the cloud, being born right in front of their eyes.
âLook, Meera! Stars are forming right there!â Aaravâs voice was full of awe.
Meera was stunned. âThis is amazing. I never knew space could be like this! Itâs so much more than just dots in the sky.â
Just as they were about to move closer to a giant galaxy in the distance, the telescope gave a sudden jerk. They were back in the backyard, safe and sound. The night was calm, with the same stars twinkling peacefully above.
Aarav looked at Meera, his eyes sparkling. âNow do you believe me? Space is full of surprises.â
Meera couldnât stop smiling. âI thought space was boring, but itâs actually so beautiful and exciting. I didnât even know there were things like nebulae and star births. Youâve just opened my eyes to a whole new world!â
Aarav grinned. âItâs all about being curious, Meera. If youâre not afraid to ask questions, you can discover things you never imagined.â
Meera hugged her brother. âThanks, Aarav! I think I want to learn more about all this now. Maybe I'll even become an astronaut someday!â
Aaravâs eyes twinkled. âYou never know, Meera. With enough curiosity and hard work, anythingâs possible. Now, let's go inside, but next time, weâre aiming for the Milky Way!â
As the siblings walked back into the house, Aarav couldnât help but think about how one small act of curiosity had led them to an incredible adventure. Maybe the magic of the telescope wasnât just in the starsâit was in their willingness to look up and dream.
Moral of the story:
Curiosity is the key to discovering new things. Donât be afraid to ask questions and explore the world around you. Sometimes, the answers are more magical than you can imagine!
