In a lush green meadow surrounded by wildflowers, a cheerful group of sheep spent their days. Among them were Lucy, a gentle sheep who loved to share stories, and Max, the youngest, always curious and playful.

"Did you see the new flowers by the stream, Lucy?" Max asked one sunny morning, his eyes wide with excitement.

"Yes, Max! They're beautiful, aren't they? It’s like the meadow dresses up just for us," Lucy replied, her voice as soft as the breeze.

As they talked, another sheep joined them. He was slightly larger and had a coat that seemed a bit too big for him. "Hello! I'm Sam," he said, trying to sound cheerful.

"Hi, Sam! Come, tell us about your favorite spot in the meadow," Max said, always eager to make new friends.

As Sam stumbled for words, Lucy noticed his coat slipping slightly, revealing a hint of grey fur underneath. She whispered to Max, "Something seems odd about Sam. Let’s keep an eye on him."

Days passed, and the sheep grew fond of Sam, who tried hard to fit in. They played games and shared meals, but Sam was always a bit clumsy with his oversized coat.

One evening, as they gathered to sleep, Lucy heard a rustle. Peeking out, she saw Sam adjusting his coat, and this time, she saw not just a hint, but a whole patch of grey fur. "Max, wake up! I think Sam might not be who he says he is," she whispered urgently.

The next morning, Max and Lucy decided to confront Sam. "Sam, we'd like to know more about where you come from," Max said, his voice gentle but firm.

Sam hesitated, then the wind blew, and his coat came off completely, revealing that he was not a sheep at all but a wolf! The sheep gasped in surprise, but Sam looked down, ashamed.

"I’m sorry," Sam said softly. "I dressed up because I wanted friends. I thought you wouldn’t play with me if you knew I was a wolf."

Lucy stepped forward, her tone kind. "Sam, you didn’t have to pretend. We could have been friends anyway. It’s always better to be yourself."

Sam nodded, learning his lesson. He promised to be honest, and in time, he did become a real friend to the sheep, no disguise needed.

The meadow buzzed with laughter and stories once more, and Sam, now in his true form, was happier than ever. The sheep learned that friendship is built on trust, and Sam discovered the joy of being accepted for who he truly was.
