âYaar, kya yeh sach mein ho raha hai?â Samir muttered, rubbing his eyes in disbelief.
It was just another regular afternoon. Samir, like every other teenager, was glued to his phone, scrolling through memes and chatting with friends about his favorite game. His room smelled like pizza, the leftover slice sitting on his desk next to his half-drunk cola. A typical 15-year-old's sanctuary, where nothing extraordinary ever happened... or so he thought.
Then it happened.
A glowing door appeared right in the middle of his room.
âUh, what the heck?!â Samir gasped, nearly falling off his chair. He blinked twice, but the door was still thereâglowing like something out of one of those weird fantasy shows his mom wouldnât let him watch. He stepped closer, cautiously. "Kya yeh koi prank hai?"
The door was shimmering with colors that didnât exist in the real world. There was no handle, just a soft hum coming from it, almost like it was... calling him. Samir hesitated for a second, his heart pounding in his chest. But curiosity, or maybe just the boredom of his usual day, pushed him forward.
And then, Samir did something no one in their right mind would do: He opened the door.
For a moment, the world seemed to shift. Suddenly, his room wasnât his room anymore. He was in... a different place. A place where the sky was purple, trees had their roots in the air, and peopleâyes, actual peopleâwere walking on what should have been the sky.
âYeh kya hai? Kahan hoon main?â Samir muttered, his voice shaking. His phone had disappeared, and he was standing on a patch of floating grass. Floating grass!
Out of nowhere, a person with blue skin and green hair appeared beside him, grinning ear to ear. âNew here, huh?â the stranger said. Samir blinked and stared.
âAre youâare you a mutant or something?â Samir asked, trying to make sense of what was happening. The stranger laughed.
âMutant? Nah, bro, Iâm just from this world. Welcome to the Upside Down World, where everythingâs... well, upside down!â
âUpside down?!â Samir could feel his brain frying. âWhat does that even mean?â
The strangerâwhose name, Samir would later learn, was Zaraâpointed at a building across the street. Instead of a normal, upright building, it was completely upside down, floating in mid-air. It was as if gravity had thrown a tantrum and decided to ignore everything.
âI told you,â Zara grinned, âthis is a world where gravityâs on vacation! The groundâs on top, the skyâs beneath, and the rules? They donât make sense.â
âYeh sab ek dream toh nahi hai, right?â Samir asked, still not sure if he was hallucinating.
âNah, bro. Youâre wide awake. Trust me, if you werenât, youâd be floating in mid-air, screaming for your life!â Zara said, looking genuinely amused.
Samir shook his head. âOkay, so what do I do here?â
âSimple. Survive. Or... maybe have fun. Depends on how adventurous you are!â Zara winked and, before Samir could react, she pulled him into a flying car. Yes, flying.
As they zoomed through the upside-down streets, Samir felt a mix of awe and terror. People were casually hanging from trees, chilling on the roofs of upside-down cars. A bunch of kids were playing cricket on what looked like a giant, floating table. Instead of bats, they were usingâget thisâelectronic fans to hit the ball. Samirâs jaw dropped.
âBro, what is this?â he asked Zara, still trying to process the madness around him.
âThis? Just a regular game of âFly-court Cricketâ!â Zara laughed. âYou should try it. But remember, the rules here are a little... bent.â
Samir blinked. âBent? What do you mean by that?â
âWell, the ballâs usually the one hitting you,â she said with a grin. âThatâs why the players wear helmets.â Zara grabbed a random helmet from the car, tossed it at Samir, and laughed when he awkwardly put it on.
But before Samir could ask more questions, a strange sound came from above. A giant birdâupside down, of courseâwas flying towards them with its mouth wide open.
âZara! That birdâs gonna eat us!â Samir screamed.
âDonât worry!â Zara yelled, pressing a button in the car. âWeâre going upside down too!â The car flipped over like a stunt from an action movie.
The bird zoomed past them, and Samir could only stare, mouth agape. âOkay, now this is insane. I canât deal with this.â
Zara laughed. âItâs not so bad once you get used to it. Just remember, Samir, nothing here follows the rules you know. So relax and enjoy the ride. Who knows? You might actually want to stay.â
But Samir was already starting to like it. The thrill, the chaosâit was like living in one of his wildest dreams. It didnât make sense, but somehow, everything fit.
And just when Samir thought he was getting the hang of things, Zara pointed to a new door that appeared out of nowhere.
"Time to go back to your world, bro. But hey, don't forget, the doorâs always open."
Samir looked at Zara, feeling a strange connection. "Will I come back?"
Zara winked. "When youâre ready, the magic will find you. Until then, enjoy your world... but know this: Everything is upside down if you look at it right."
Samir stepped back through the door, back into his room, where everything looked normal again. But something inside him had changed. He smiled to himself, knowing heâd never look at the world the same way again.
And as for the magic door? Well, letâs just say it might be waiting for Samir again. When the time is right.
